To help to keep the elk out of farmer's fields during winter, the Washington State Deptartment of Wildlife has several feeding stations in the State. This is from the Oak Creek station near Yakima, Washington. While you can get within several meters of the elk when at the fence, the station also offers free flatbed truck rides through the herd once per day. We happened to get there just in time to get on the truck, where I took several hundred pictures, mostly of elk with their heads stuck in piles of hay.

Joe,
Clear, sharp details.......nicely done......didnt know they gave rides out into the fields. If youve got any without them chowing down.......put 'em up on the boards.

I would prefer it without cropping the antlers. Nice soft colours.
